Before downloading
The APK requires Android 9 or newer and a head unit that permits app installation. Wi-Fi Direct needs Android 10+. A minimum OS version is not a tested-car guarantee.
The download links directly to the project’s GitHub APK; this site does not store installation files. The release package is com.shihab.diplay. Source builds may not include the authentication assets needed to run it.
Updating an existing installation
Use the same public-release package and install over it to preserve preferences and pairing records. HUD Test packages are separate apps. If Android reports a signature mismatch, stop and check the package origin instead of immediately uninstalling.
The release notes state signing continuity with 0.2.7. The published checksum/digest and release assets are available on GitHub; keep a diagnostic report before changing a problematic setup.
What “public preview” means
The project is experimental and not Apple-certified. An extractable experimental accessory identity is bundled in its APK; future acceptance is not guaranteed.
0.2.8 contributor features were tested in a Tang setup. The final packaged APK has not had a separate on-car session test. “Latest” does not mean verified on every vehicle.
