Connect in order
- Use the vehicle’s documented USB data port and a known data-capable cable. Unlock the iPhone.
- Open DiPlay and select Connect with USB. Approve USB access on Android and Trust/CarPlay prompts on the phone.
- Approve the local VPN permission if shown. It carries the USB network connection locally, not a remote internet VPN service.
- Keep other projection apps closed and start with H.264 / 30 fps / Default scale.
Phone-specific evidence
Seal 06 report #57 says iPhone XS Max / iOS 18.7.1 connects on 0.2.7, while iPhone 13 Pro / reported iOS 26 reconnects repeatedly on the same car. That is a report for those combinations, not all iOS 26 phones.
Han / DiLink 4 report #11 describes working wired projection and touch, but repeated permission prompts and a 15–25 second startup. A head unit can permit a working link while retaining firmware-specific permission behavior.
If it still fails
Save a diagnostic report after the failed attempt. Record whether the iPhone is discovered, permissions are accepted, the UI loops before projection, or audio/video starts then stops.
Do not infer an ADB requirement from a USB failure. Core CarPlay has no runtime ADB requirement.

Works with known issues
Projection and touch explicitly work. Steering-wheel media keys fail; USB permission repeats and startup takes about 15–25 seconds. Newer steering-wheel implementation exists, but this exact setup has no retest.
